Also examined are ways to live outside of these constraining stories, so that boys have a chance of becoming "better men." Jhally is a professor at UMASS-Amherst and the founder of the Media Education Foundation, through which he has produced more than 40 films. He was named one of New Woman magazine's "People of the Year" in 1992. |
