The VJC Big Band Gala and Dance Swing, Swing, Swing

The VJC’s 17-piece big band is a collaboration of professional musicians from within about an hour’s radius of Brattleboro who enthusiastically interpret arrangements from the great dance orchestras of the 30s and 40s.  This year’s concert will feature a guest appearance by award-winning vocalist, Sarah Elizabeth Charles, who sang several years ago with the VJC big band while still a high school student.  Now a New Yorker with a promising career, Sarah Elizabeth returns home to New England to sing for the VJC’s annual gala.  For this special occasion, we will also present a female vocal quintet singing jazz classics in the close- harmony style of the famed Andrews Sisters.  You’ll be glad you “put on your dancing shoes.”
