LakeShaftsburyState Park provides camping for groups only in 15 lean-tos in a wooded area near a lake, and a shore side housekeeping cottage. The area is separated from the day use area and has pit toilets. LakeShaftsbury provides a large beach, picnic area, boat rentals, snack bar and a pavilion for rent by groups. A nature trail around the lake is available for hiking and wildlife watching. From Wilmington take RT 9 West for 20 miles; Turn RIGHT onto US-7; Continue to follow US-7 N.; Take the HISTORIC VT-7A N exit, EXIT 2, toward SHAFTSBURY; Take the HISTORIC VT-7A NORTH/ SOUTH ramp toward SO. SHAFTSBURY/ ARLINGTON.; Turn RIGHT onto HARWOOD HILL RD/ VT-7A/ ETHAN ALLEN HWY. Continue to follow VT-7A/ ETHAN ALLEN HWY. for 7 miles; Turn RIGHT onto STATE PARK RD.
