Book Discussion Series with Richard M. Wizansky

 

            All are invited to attend Revenge, a free book discussion series sponsored by Vermont Humanities Council and.  Discussions will be hosted by Dover Free Library at 22 Holland Road on Wednesdays beginning at 7:00 P.M.  The site is ADA accessible.

             

Revenge ~ sessions

 

What are the causes of revenge? What are the consequences? Is taking revenge ever justified?  Explore this most passionate and provocative of human desires through drama, short stories, and novels. The series was created by VHC Scholar Suzanne Brown in conjunction with Quechee Library and first funded by a Vermont Humanities Council grant to the library.

The books featured in the series will be discussed as follows:

                        July 8 ~ Agamemnon by Aeschylus

            July 22 ~ Welcome to Hard Times by E.L. Doctorow

August 5 ~ Selected Stories by Andre Dubus

August 19 ~ The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks
