The Wilmington Inn Aquired by Charles & Megan Foster
February 21, 2017
Two former Hyatt executives with a long history in the hospitality industry, Charles and Megan Foster, have purchased the Wilmington Inn, in Wilmington, Vermont. After closing February 21st, the two assumed management immediately.
With over 15 years of experience in the hotel industry, Charles was most recently a senior rooms executive at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor. Winner of numerous Hyatt awards, Megan has been a customer service expert at the Hyatt for over a dozen years, with a wedding execution specialty.
“For years, running an Inn has been a dream of mine and Megan’s,” says Charles, “We went to college in New England and have always loved Vermont. Wilmington is a perfect location for us, and we look forward to becoming active & contributing members of the community.”
The Inn, most recently owned by Rachel Pilcher, has a history dating back to the 1940s when it started as the Gavit Lodge. A decade later, it was renamed the Red Shutter Inn and stayed with that name until it became the Wilmington Inn and Tavern in 2010.
The Inn currently has nine rooms, located in the Main Inn building, built in 1894 and the Carriage House. Full breakfast and afternoon snacks are included with every room and suite.
