SUMMARY:2026 Season Overview
DESCRIPTION:May 21 \n\n\nHistoric Memorial Hall\, Wilmington\, VT \n\n\n\nKick off the season with us at our Season Preview! \nThis will be a casual evening at Memorial Hall where you can get a sneak peek at what’s coming up\, meet the people behind the work\, and feel the energy that’s building for the months ahead. \nThis is not a formal presentation or a sit-in-your-seat-for-two-hours kind of night. Think mix & mingle: a welcoming room\, good conversation\, drinks and light bites\, and a chance to connect with Friends of Historic Memorial Hall supporters\, artists\, and neighbors who care about keeping the Hall active and full of life. \nThroughout the evening\, we’ll share a short overview of the season — what we’re producing\, what we’re excited about\, and why these events matter to the cultural life of the Deerfield Valley. You’ll also catch a handful of brief performances that spotlight some of the artists and productions you’ll see on the Memorial Hall stage this season. It’s a fun way to sample the season before it starts — and to discover events you might not have found otherwise. \nWhether you’re already a regular at The Hall or you’ve been meaning to check it out\, our Season Preview is an easy on-ramp. Come for ten minutes or stay the whole time. Bring a friend. Ask questions. Meet the people. Leave with a clearer sense of what’s ahead — and a few “we have to come back for that” moments circled in your mind. \nEveryone is welcome. If you love live music\, theatre\, and community events — or you just want a reason to get out on a good night and see what Memorial Hall can be — this is a perfect place to start.\nFHMH Season Preview

SUMMARY:XANADU presented by the Deerfield Valley Players
DESCRIPTION:XANADU \, the 2007 award-nominated musical about following your dreams despite the limitations that others set for you\, will be presented by the Deerfield Valley Players at 7:30 pm on August 14\, 15\, 16\, and 17 at Memorial Hall\, 14 West Main Street\, Wilmington\, Vermont.\n\nXANADU is a comedy jukebox musical adapted for the stage from the 1980’s movie of the same name. While the film was a box office flop\, the 2007 Broadway musical is an absolute gem of 1980’s cheesy dialogue and disco.\n\nIt features an unconventional campy story that blends the golden age of 1940’s musicals and 1980’s new wave sound.  Mythological Greek muses come to life after being sketched by a surfer/dude sidewalk artist in Venice\, California.\nCharacters whirl around in a roller disco\, and the pop sound track sets the tone for a 90 minute fan-favorite show.\n\nThe production is directed by Caden Ari Adair\, who will also play the leading role.  Barbara Lipstadt\, founder of the Deerfield Valley Players\, is the musical director.  Local actors include Carrie Blake\, Joanne Bourbeau\, George Adair\, Hillary Smite\, AJ Kuusinen\, Mary Reilly\, Bashtian Morehead\, Jo Swani\, Nikhil Swani\, and Steve Teisch. John Iverson will provide lighting and sound and the set was designed by Caden Adair.\n\nTickets (adults – $18 and students – $12) are available at events.com and Bartleby’s Book Store in Wilmington. Performance rights are from Music Theater International and the show is sponsored by Friends of Historic Memorial Hall.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of  Historic Memorial Hall Present:  Bearly Dead Performing Europe ’72 \nDoors 7:30 PM\n\nShowtime 8:00 PM\n\nAll Ages\n\nOn its 50th Anniversary\, November 5\, 2022\, Bearly Dead will cover Europe ’72 in its entirety at Historic Memorial Hall in Wilmington\, VT! The band will bring their own unique spin to the classic album\, reimagining the songs and jams like you’ve never heard before! \n  \nReleased on November 5\, 1972\, Europe ’72 is a live triple album showcasing highlights from the Grateful Dead’s tour of Western Europe in April and May of that year. It became one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed albums by the Dead\, and it was one of the first triple-record rock albums to be certified gold by RIAA. The album has since been certified double platinum. It was the first Dead album to include pianist Keith Godchaux and vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux\, and the last to feature founding member Ron “Pigpen” McKernan\, who died shortly after its release. \n  \nBearly Dead is an all-star cast of players with deep roots in the New England jam & festival scene. With over 230 songs in rotation and new material being added all the time\, Bearly Dead performs wildly different set lists every night and ensures that each show is a unique experience.
