The Hapgood Pond trail begins at the Hapgood Pond day use area, past the bathhouse, and continues for 0.8 miles around the north edge of the pond to the dam on the opposite side of the pond. Just beyond the trailhead, you’ll pass a short spur trail to the left leading to the camping loops. This trail follows a stream
for a while traveling over a few small hills and winding through a hardwood forest that gradually changes to softwoods near the dam. The trail crosses Flood Brook on a footbridge, then heads south and skirts the pond’s edge leading to a special walkway over Hapgood Dam. Please practice Leave No Trace ethics, such as carry out what you carry in.
