Battle of Valcour Island

“Battle of Valcour Island” presented by the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, 3:30pm, OSEC, 1 School St, Wilmington.  The remnants of a battle generally regarded as one of the first naval battles of the American Revolutionary War, and one of the first fought by the Continental Navy are a part of Vermont’s history.  Archaeologist Taylor Picard’s talk will detail the historic Battle of Valcour from the buildup of both the British and Patriot fleets to its final moments in Arnold’s Bay through the lens of archaeology.
