Charles’ Dickens A Christmas Carol. A 1930’s Radio Play

About the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry

The mission of the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry (DVFP) is to see that no one in the area goes needlessly hungry, or lacks the basics for personal care. They provide to all those who ask for assistance. Serving Wilmington, Whitingham, Jacksonville, Dover, Readsboro, Marlboro, Halifax, and Searsburg, the DVFP relies on donations of food items, the financial support of local churches, towns, organizations and individuals, plus an annual membership drive to make sure our shelves are never empty. The DVFP is a 501(c)(3) organization and a member of the Vermont Foodbank.

About the Performance

Relive the days of old-time radio of A Christmas Carol, a 1930’s Radio Play. See
Charles Dickens’ magical story of the moral redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge performed by six actors playing a host of delightful characters, including ghosts, Jacob Marley, TinyTim and more. The production will also highlight commercials from the glory days of radio. Come join the fun and experience this classic story that celebrates the rebirth of the human spirit.

A Christmas Carol, a 1930’s Radio Play is the ultimate family show
with something to delight the youngest to the eldest member of the audience.
Company: Actors, Michael Haley, Joan Haley, John Reese, Thom Griffin, Ann
Steinhauser, and Brooke Steinhauser with John Iverson’s creative commercials and
John Reese’s direction.

A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, published in 1843 in London, is one of the most beloved stories of the holiday season. This unique tale is shaped so that it becomes a celebration of the human spirit, as the old curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge, is given a chance to reawaken his conscience and experience a rebirth of his humanity
